MyCIEDS stands for the Malaysian Customs Import/Export Document System, which serves as a support system for the Import Export assessment process at the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD).
MyCIEDS functions as a facilitation intermediary for the submission of supporting documents between RMCD officers and Shipping Agent companies/Direct Users for each Customs Form declared through the Customs Information System (SMK).
The group REQUIRED to register with MyCIEDS is limited to Shipping Agent companies/Direct Users only. Only COMPANY DIRECTORS are eligible to register with MyCIEDS, and the director’s name must match the data in the Customs Information System (SMK) and be verified by the Agent Control Unit (UKE) of the Royal Malaysian Customs Department as the account administrator for the company.
A Direct User (DU) is an approval under Section 90(7) of the Customs Act 1967 and is assigned a DU code. It is granted to IMPORTERS OR EXPORTERS who use their own employees to deal with Customs for the clearance of their own company’s goods without utilizing the services of a Shipping Agent.
No physical documents are required when applying for company registration. However, if the MyCIEDS application is rejected due to the director’s name not matching the SMK data, the company is required to submit the latest Corporate Information document from the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) to UKE.

RMCD will verify the company’s registration validity through the registered company phone number with UKE. RMCD will periodically conduct verification visits to the registered MyCIEDS company premises for registration confirmation and site verification.
After obtaining approval, the company director needs to add staff members who will be responsible for uploading supporting documents for the purpose of import-export assessment.
There is no limit on the number of staff that can be added in MyCIEDS for facilitating the process of submitting supporting documents. The company administrator must ensure that the staff information matches the SMK data registered with UKE for staff dealing with Customs.
The registered staff of the company can only upload supporting documents through MyCIEDS after generating a Customs Form number through the Dagang Net system.
The required documents to be uploaded include invoices, Packing List, Bill Of Lading (BL), color copies of the Certificate of Origin for assessments involving Free Trade Agreement (FTA) exemptions, permits/approvals from relevant agencies (if applicable), proof of payment, insurance, and any other documents deemed necessary.
